Aluminerie de Bécancour: an important decision recognizes a discriminatory situation based on social condition and age
The Human Rights Tribunal has issued an important ruling ordering Aluminerie de Bécancour Inc. (ABI) to correct a discriminatory situation, in a case brought by the Commission. This decision recognizes that students working at the Bécancour aluminium smelter have been discriminated against on the basis of their age and their social condition.
Montréal, May 18, 2018– The Human Rights Tribunal has issued an important ruling ordering Aluminerie de Bécancour Inc. (ABI) to correct a discriminatory situation, in a case brought by the Commission.
